As usual, these are Crunchyroll guest passes which grant 2 days of Premium+ (because they renamed it). I’ll check later which ones were actually used.

Kantai Collection E-5

I am so happy I completed this god damn event map that I’m actually going to post here about it because I feel like I really need to type this down so I can look back on it in the next event and realize why the Hell I’m still trying to clear even when RNG is wrecking my ships like nobody’s business.

After 8 straight failed sorties, a great deal of which were somehow done by the CL oni critting my Haruna to red immediately (I tried going straight to the boss regardless once and she lived with 71 HP) or that CV hime pre-boss node (100% Abyssal accuracy OP), I managed to get to the boss with no chuuha/taiha ships and entered the night battle with no chuuha/taiha on my escort fleet. Needless to say, my main fleet had two taiha because RNG OP.

Night battle started off okay. Ro-chan wanted to cut-in, so I was like “YES!” until she only did 40 damage (which was still a “yes” but not as loud). BB water demon decided she wanted to hate on me here so she decided to taiha Sendai who was next in line. Yuudachi came up and did a double attack for like a total of 9. Then my E-5 goddess, Yukikaze, came with her insane luck and pulled a cut-in, dealing the final 190 damage to the boss and winning me E-5. I wasn’t sure if she would manage to do it or Kitakami + Ooi who were right behind her would do it (or fail to do it), so I cheered and started messaging/shouting at everyone about the win.

If any of you are also playing Kantai Collection and struggling with this god damned boss, I can only wish you luck. I stopped praying to RNG-sama and started praying to the KanColle developers near the end. Hopefully that’s what blessed Yukikaze, even if I’m not spiritually in tune enough to believe that.

As an aside, if I had failed that sortie, I have absolutely no fuel or ammo left now so I would’ve failed to clear ♡.

EDIT: E-6 farming being amazing for me personally. I got a lot of random rares during the event (Ooyodo, Tokitsukaze, etc.) and now I’m getting everything I wanted to date (Kaga, Shoukaku, etc.). If my luck on E-5 was traded for this, I’m strangely okay with that.

End of Hiatus…?

あけおめー

To make a long story short, this college semester has been the most vague and needlessly pointless that I’ve ever had and I wasn’t sure until….about yesterday, that I found out that I managed to pass all my classes. The problem was not knowing until well after the end. Oh, and Phantasy Star Online 2 may have had some hand in keeping me busy (Hasn’t been a single day I haven’t been on it. I suffer from the same symptoms as sinemerald does in terms of gaming).

Now that that’s out of the way though, I just need to get back on track. I can’t apologize enough about my absence for all these months but I’ll make it up to you guys with some content updates over the next week or so.

Happy New Years to everyone!

Translator’s Block.

So I’ve gone almost two weeks without a single update. Why?

At first, it was because I conveniently forgot that I have a less-than-great constitution, so I decided to take a few days off resting up. Unfortunately, the week I spent resting was accompanied by 90+ degree weather, constant 80+% humidity, and bugs of all varieties storming into my room everytime I left my window open more than ten seconds. Not exactly the best working conditions for me.

During this time, I found out that the decent translations that the person from animesuki.net sent in weren’t actually all that decent (or accurate, to say the least). As a result I ended up spending roughly the same amount of time (and more because of what happened after) rechecking all the translations and correcting it. Needless to say, I most likely won’t be using the epilogue that this person translated for anything more than a general reference.

Then….my parents decided to bring relatives over for the next two weeks or so. I expect them to be gone by July 16th, but in the meantime, my parents, especially my mom, who’s currently sleeping on the floor in my room, has completely ruined the sanctity of my workspace. In short, even if I wanted to start working on the translations again, I can’t concentrate at all.

It sounds like whining and is probably a suck-it-up situation, yes. And I’d agree. But I seriously cannot concentrate here. I would rather spend my day doing something a little more productive than translating ten sentences a day (seriously, that’s what I’ve been doing the past two weeks on average). You can whip me and verbally abuse me, but until I get my room and privacy back, I won’t be able to do much of anything that can be called work.

What this means for me is that I won’t be able to meet my appointed deadline for finishing this by the end of July – I actually do have a bunch of other stuff to do this summer that I most definitely won’t be able to do when the fall semester starts and I wanted to save August for it.

By the end of July, I’ll try to guarantee Volume 7’s completion, but the rest will most likely have to wait until the fall. This might also mean that I should hand Volume 4’s remaining chapters off to drinkingwater if I want this overall thing to go any faster. It’s not an official statement, but I am seriously considering it.

When will chapter two be out? I have a little over half of it done at the moment. If I really buckled down for the day I might get it done tomorrow, but considering my concentration span in these condtions, I’ll be lucky to continue my ten sentence a day average.

I yearn for the day when I can move out of here. I can’t even relax in my own room.

I’m in Japan

Yep. I’m currently writing from the airport in Japan (because my battery is such a long-lived damn thing). It’s a vacation trip so releases -will- be delayed somewhat. I’ll do them at night and such, but yeah, it’ll be a little slow for 2 weeks.

Here’s to having fun.

Eh.

There will be a collaborator for the Mondaiji project on my end, but they will not be starting work until somewhere in mid-May because of college. I expect a general boost in translation rate at that point.

So uh.

Hi there, I’m a friend of sinemerald’s on a borrowed name as my usual nick is taken here. I’m also the aforementioned collaborator for the Mondaiji project.

My level of Japanese comprehension isn’t abysmal but if you guys have any complaints about my translation skills, feel free to let me know. It’s actually been a decently long while since I’ve picked up a project as large as this but it fits in with my need to brush up on my Japanese over the summer, so I figured why not. I am also personally interested in Mondaiji-tachi, so don’t worry if you think I’m just going to treat this as a chore.

As for when I’ll be starting….probably early June. I currently have a week left before the end of the college semester and I would like another week to rest up and plan out my summer. I definitely won’t be as fast as sinemerald is when it comes to cranking out translations, but I’ll try to keep up.

Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance – Volume 5 Afterword

Author’s

—Kamito, I am your sword. For as long as your wish.

And with that, it has been a three month silence. This is Shimizu Yuu.

The elemental fantasy “Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance” has reached its fifth volume!

One night after the difficult fight with Muir from the <Instructional School>, Kamito loses Est and falls into despair. The ojou-samas attempt to cheer (through ecchi means) that Kamito up. The <Blade Dance>’s real battle starts while he still hasn’t recovered Est. The mysterious Ren Ashbell. The awakened dragon knight, Leonora. And the truth about the legendary <Demon Slayer>……!

In this fifth volume that touches upon Est’s past, I’ve also packed in plenty of the battle x love comedy attributes!

Announcements. I was lent a small section in the anthology of MF Bunko J’s extremely popular “Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai,” “Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai – Universe” (It goes on sale at the same time as Seirei volume 5). Sagara Sou-sensei, Yuuji Yuuji-sensei, Watari Wataru-sensei (and around fifty others), with such wonderful professional writers and the creator of the original work, Hirasaka Yomi, it feels like the tension is high. For fans of “Haganai” or the author, please give a it a read. Sakura Hanpen-sensei’s godly cute illustrations are also included.

Sakura Hanpen-sensei also drew a wonderful front cover and illustrations. Thank you very much. Est’s heartrending expression squeezed my heart……hooray for half-nakedness!

Yoshihira Zenzai-sensei who is drawing the manga. Truly, thank you for drawing such a high-quality masterpiece. Claire with her hair flitting about is cute.

MFJ’s hyper media producer, Shouji-san, I caused you a lot of trouble this time as well.

And the greatest thanks goes to you who has this in their hands!

The other day, a signing event was held and it made me very happy to be able to talk with those who read “Seirei”. Continue reading
