Hyouketsu Kyoukai no Eden Volume 7 – Blank Baptism

A note going into this volume, Blank in the volume title is written the same as Igun’I. In the afterword, it was written as 空白の洗礼 which is literally “blank’s baptism”. I translated it as Igun’I back there seeing as there’s nothing known as “blank” other than him who can possibly use baptism. Might be worth keeping in mind though.

Nobody seemed to be complaining about the color stuff, so this will also be using the new blue-purple stuff to add extra visual indication for differentiating between quotation types and speaker properties (mechanical or otherwise).

Why Am I So Slow

I’m sure some individuals that are avid light novel readers have been fretting about why I’ve been updating so consistently slow right now. I’m writing this now because it could become even more infrequent depending on some events within the next week.

So first of all, a big part of the reason I’m not getting much done at the moment is that I’m actually commuting to my local university. I spend around 6 hours there per day. That’s still okay though (I’m sneaking translating in between activities).

Secondly – and this is the big one – I’m still involved in the working scene. The most recent venture will have me actually having to leave my house, unlike all the remote work I’ve been doing until now where I would be able to lounge around and finish it at like 3 AM. I have an interview on Wednesday next week so I’ll need to focus on brushing up on all the skills I need so I don’t just bomb out and embarrass myself (and also fall into a good bit of self-loathing for squandering chances like this).

As for if I manage to pass this interview, the work hours will be standard. I believe that’s around 8 hours a day, so a good portion of my day will go missing. Coupled with other things I have to do, I’ll have a minor piece to devote to translating. I will set a realistic goal for myself when I come to face exactly how much work this job entails.

That’s about it; now then, I’ll be off to study all my work materials.

I didn’t really get anything much done today in terms of translating because of a birthday party that I forgot about (and I still don’t know who it was for even after attending). Should be able to get the prologue out without going into the wee hours of the morning though.

So I think everybody’s pretty much antsy about when I’m actually gonna get around to doing this.

I’ve been pretty distracted the last little while (and no, it’s not Dragon Nest) so I haven’t really done much but I’ll sweep everything that’s not urgent to the side and finish this up. Chapter 1 will probably get wrapped up by the end of tomorrow.

Well, let’s get right to it…I’ll just be writing the overview for today and going to sleep. Then I’ll work on this tomorrow (probably).

I realized when I came back to look at this that I FORGOT TO TRANSLATE THE INNER COVER’S TEXT. It’s there now.

Really looking forward to chapter 3 because of that title…
